Ricardo Jean Baptiste

Chef Ricardo hails from the West indies and is a native of Haiti. He came to the US with his family at the age of 13 years old. As a young adult Ricardo discovered his passion for cooking.


He entered the world of Culinary in 2005 after gaining a degree in A.S. Culinary Arts from the Orlando Culinary Academy.  Ricardo’s Marriott journey began in 2012 as a Lead Line Cook in the Orlando World Center’s premier specialty restaurant, Siro Urban Italian Kitchen.  In 2014, Ricardo joined the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Resort as a Senior Kitchen Supervisor.   In 2015, he was promoted to Sous Chef at the JW Marriott New Orleans, and in 2018, he was named Executive Sous Chef at the JW Marriott New Orleans.


Ricardo possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in fast-paced kitchen environments. He strives to be innovative his approach to developing menus and exceptional dining experiences. Above all, Ricardo is an enthusiastic leader and takes pride in educating and sharing his craft with others around the globe.
